Idag har varit en lugn dag hemma, vi har haft hantverkare hemma som har grejat med något rör till diskmaskinen och börjat kika på renovering av trappa samt garage. Vi ska även ta bort bastun och göra om till garderober istället. Allt sker när vi är i Thailand vilket är smidigt. Det vi har kvar i huset förutom det ovan är gästtoaletten och tvättstugan. Men det är ingen panik. Odd målade om själv så det blev lite bättre. Innan var det 70-talstapet i både gästtoa och tvättstuga. I tvättstugan målade han vita väggar, grå färg på golvet samt bytte ut den gamla rostfria bänken till en vit enkel från IKEA samt ett städskåp bredvid:

Jag skulle vilja göra det lite finare här inne. Jag gillar ju trots allt och tvätta så det ska ju vara ett mysigt rum. Jag skulle vilja ha hyllor på väggarna med fina lådor så att bänken under endast blir en vika-plats. Nu använder vi ena delen till skötbord också. Kanske en grön växt, högtalare/radio. Kom gärna med förslag! Förresten så älskar jag att ha en diskho här. Är vi blöta från snön och ska in går vi via garaget och sedan via tvättstugan och tar av oss allt där. Slipper vi kladda er hela hallen. Villa-förmåner.

Det ser ut som en vanlig tvättmaskin men detta monster från Siemens (som vi har ett samarbete med) kan vara min nya kärlek. Modellen heter IQ 800 och man häller i hela en förpackning tvättmedel och sköljmedel på en gång och sedan kan tvättmaskinen självdosera efter hur mycket tvätt det är i. På så sätt sparar man vatten och tvättmedel. Jag har ju sagt att jag gillar teknik på den nivån att man bara trycker på en knapp och det är precis vad jag gör. Slänger in tvätt, trycker på automatiskt. Klart. Är det en massa fläckar kan jag välja "barnmat" "Vin" "Gräs" etc, det är redan förinstallerat. Ett val var för blodfläckar. Alltså en perfekt tvättmaskin om man planerar ett mord. Vilket jag sa till installatören men han skrattade inte alls.

Torktumlaren har en självrengörare och väldigt låg energiförbrukning. Jag läste att just torktumlaren och golvvärmen är stora kostnadsbovarna hemma. Därför har jag blivit lite snål och kör bara på långa eko-program och stänger av golvet så fort vi inte använder det. Vilket betyder att det alltid är superkallt i badrummen. Har ni golvvärme på jämt i badrummen?

Today was a relaxed day at home. We had some people over from a renovation firm fixing a pipe for our dishwasher and they also took a look at our stairway and garage which are our upcoming renovation projects. We're also turning the sauna into wardrobes instead. All this will be done when we're in Thailand, very comfortable. When that's done we have the guest bathroom and the laundry room to go, but there's no rush. Odd painted those rooms himself so they look okay at the moment. When we moved in the walls were hanged with this 70's wallpaper, but now the walls in the laundry room are white and the floor is gray. Odd also changed the corrosion-resistant counter top for a more simple, white one from IKEA and put in a cabinet where we can store stuff for cleaning.

I'd love to make this place a little nicer. After all I enjoy doing laundry so I want it to be cozy in here. I want shelves on the walls with nice boxes on them so the bench can be used for folding only. Now we're using one part of the bench as a changing table too. A plant would be nice, and maybe speakers/radio. Do you have any other suggestions? I love that we have a sink in here by the way. If we get wet from the snow outside and enter the house through the garage we can take our outerwear off in here. That way we won't have to make a mess in the hallway. House-privilege.

This looks like a regular washing machine, but this monster from Siemens (with whom we have an ongoing collaboration) could be the new love of my life. The model is called IQ 800 and you fill it up with the whole package of detergent and softener at once and then the machine determines what dose to use every time. That way you save water and detergent. I told you before I'm very fond of that kind of technical stuff where you just have to push a button, and this is one of those things. I just throw in the dirty laundry and press auto. Done. And if there's a lot of stains you can choose options like baby food, wine, grass etc. Already pre-installed settings. There's also a category called blood stains, so this is the perfect washing machine if you're planning a murder. I tried being funny with the guy who installed it telling him that, but his face didn't even move.

The dryer has got a self-cleaning function and consumes a very low amount of energy. I read the dryer and floor heating are the most energy-consuming things in a house. Now when I'm aware of that I've adapted a more economical mindset and use the longer eco-programmes for the dryer and I've started turning the floor heating off when we're not in the room. So far the result of this is freezing bathrooms. Do you always leave the floor heating on in the bathroom?
